I’ve been the founder who started with nothing and the operator who built inside structures that weren’t mine. Both experiences taught me things the other couldn’t. Founding teaches you what organisations feel like before they have gravity. Operating inside large ones teaches you what they feel like when gravity becomes inertia — and how to build anyway.
